Update, 11:40 a.m.: Saints pass rusher Junior Galette is being booked with domestic violence/simple battery, according to the Kenner Police Department. He’s accused of a pushing a woman to the ground at his home.

According to police, the woman had visible injuries. Her earring was ripped out, and she was bleeding.

The woman accused Galette and his cousin, Terrence Banks Jr., of “jumping her.” Banks allegedly took her phone as she dialed 911.

Galette portrayed the woman to police as a dancer who stayed at his house overnight. The woman said she was Galette’s personal assistant who did things like cooking and cleaning for him.

Saints pass rusher Junior Galette is in the Kenner Police Department’s custody after a disturbance at his home, a spokesman for the agency confirmed on Monday. He could not immediately say what the allegations Galette was being held on were.

WRNO-99.5 FM radio host Gerry Vaillancourt, a well-known local sports personality, tweeted on Monday morning that Galette was being questioned in connection to a domestic violence case, but Kenner police could not immediately confirm that.

Galette bought a house in the Jefferson Parish municipality of Kenner in September, and that is his residence, public records show.

In his fifth year with the Saints, Galette led New Orleans’ defense in sacks (10). He had 12 sacks last year as New Orleans got to the divisional round of the playoffs and became the first Saints player in 10 years to reach double digits in that category in consecutive seasons. Nonetheless, this season, the Saints gave up the second-most yards in the NFL, finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs.

The Saints in early September gave Galette a four-year, $41.5 million deal that would extend his contract through 2019.
